Project Tomorrow Settlements

Settlements are the newest confirmed progression system — rebuild them, grow population, and push regions forward.

Settlements were added to Project Tomorrow's progression in the latest developer update. This page summarizes exactly what the developer announced — no more, no less.

How settlements work

  1. Find ruined settlements — the world contains ruined settlements to discover.
  2. Rebuild them — restoring a settlement is a progression activity.
  3. Awaken settlers — rebuilding a settlement brings settlers to life.
  4. Grow population — more settlers mean a bigger population.
  5. Complete regions — with enough settlements and population, you complete a region.
  6. Move on — finishing a region unlocks the next area of the map.

Settlements and terraforming

This is the important part: progression is no longer only about terraforming levels. Both systems now work together — terraforming restores the world, while settlements and population advance regions. See the Terraforming guide for the other half.

In development: barracks & AI soldiers

The developer also mentioned future systems in development — barracks and AI soldiers. These are planned, not live: treat them as upcoming features until they ship in a playtest or update.
